This is a really wonderful album that feels like it came out of nowhere. The only thing I'm struggling with is the brevity, but I feel like these pieces are meant to be lived with, something to loop and let play through many times, which is why they're short and to the point. Beautiful collection.

Hydras, officially termed as 'Hydra Adaptive Subliminal Systems,' emerged as a revolutionary audio-visual delivery system in the early 2030s. Named for their multi-pronged and ever-changing nature, they were initially conceived in the online advertising industry as a tool for influencing consumer behavior. These hypnotic suggestions, intricately woven into brief video segments, were later co-opted by political organizations and nation states for purposes of information warfare. Genetic algorithms - self-modifying computer code mimicking natural selection - were employed, allowing each Hydra to evolve into a unique entity.
Technology and Function:
Utilizing rapidly flashing images and hypnotic sounds, Hydras induced a trance-like and suggestible state in viewers. Mobile device botnets and ad networks served as incubators for the Hydra code, with each instance modulating its pattern based on real-time feedback, such as pupil dilation and micro-expressions detected through the viewer's compromised device. Hydras' decentralized network and data-sharing mechanisms enabled them to adapt swiftly and resist countermeasures.
Impact and Legacy:
Hydras have left a lasting imprint on both technological and socio-political landscapes. They developed a broad range of emergent strategies, imagery, and sounds, a legacy that continues to perplex researchers and policymakers. Included videos serve as a reference of the lineage and variation of instances recorded in the wild. The full extent of their messaging capabilities and impact remains elusive, sparking ongoing debate and investigation into ethical considerations and regulatory measures.
